Arsenal’s newest January signing Jakub Kiwior is set to make his long awaited Arsenal debut today in the Europa League round-of-16 game against Sporting CP.
According to Polish reporter, Meczyki on Twitter, Jakub Kiwior will start for Arsenal this afternoon.
The 23-year old Polish international joined the Gunners in January from Serie A side Spezia Calcio in a transfer worth around €25m on a long-term contract.
Kiwior was closely monitored by multiple clubs and his performances in the World Cup meant that he was expected to move, and his move of choice was Arsenal. His best attributes is his composure, ball-playing ability and his fantastic reading of the game.
It is expected that Mikel Arteta will make a fair amount of changes to the first XI in the game against Sporting CP, with the next Premier League game coming just three days after a game in Lisbon, a tough game away at Fulham.
Jakub Kiwior is most likely expected to form a center-back partenership with Rob Holding, as Saliba will drop to the bench to build his fitness ahead of the Fulham game.
However, Kiwior already played some minutes in famous red and white, with him being involved in U21 match against Chelsea, together with Smith-Rowe. Both the players played only for the first 45 minutes, but quality of Jakub Kiwior was evident on multiple occasions.
However, tomorrow will be the real first test for the Polishnan, as the fans cant wait to see him in action. Mikel Arteta has full faith in Kiwior and everyone at the club is raring to see what he can offer.
