Granit Xhaka has renewed himself as an Arsenal hero this season. It’s a remarkable turnaround when you compare the fact the midfielder was so close to leaving the club back in 2019 & roll four years and he’s one of Mikel Arteta’s most important players.
Granit Xhaka has started in every Premier League game for Arsenal so far this season, scoring 3 goals & getting 5 assists so far. It’s his best season at Arsenal in terms of goal contributions since he joined the club in 2016 & there’s still 15 games to go for the Swiss to improve on that record.
According to 90min, Arsenal’s vice-captain Granit Xhaka is keen to extend his stay at the club and talks have taken place recently over a new contract.
Mikel Arteta was the man that convinced Granit Xhaka to stay at the club in 2019 & now the two have a great relationship together, it’s no surprise the two want to continue working together at Arsenal.
Granit Xhaka’s current contract expires at the end of next season with both the club & the player keen to extend his stay in North London to at least 2025.
With Granit Xhaka closing in on 300 appearances for the Gunners, it looks like he’s going to make that landmark with a new contract extension on the cards.
No deal has been agreed yet but talks are moving in the right direction and with both parties desperate to get the contract signed as soon as possible, it’s a matter of when it will be signed, not if.
