Fantastic news coming out of The Emirates this afternoon as one of Arsenal’s standout performers this season, Gabriel Martinelli has agreed a contract extension that will last for four and a half years, and will see the Brazilian stay in North London until summer of 2027.

As reported by a very reliable David Ornstein, the talks about a new contract for Martinelli started even before the World Cup, and they accelerated after Premier League restart. Martinelli’s fantastic performances didn’t go unnoticed, with multiple clubs wanting to sign him in the summer.

However, Arsenal and Martinelli had other plans as they agree on a contract that will last until summer 2027, with a reported wage of £200k per week. This will make him the second highest earner at Arsenal tied with Thomas Partey.

The Brazilian joined Arsenal in the Summer of 2019 from fourth tier Brazilian club Ituano for a fee of €7m. He instantly became a fan favorite, bringing flair and directness in the Arsenal attack. So far this season, he made 19 appearances, scoring seven goals and assisting twice. He was also included in the Brazil national team for the 2022 World Cup where he made two appearances.

Martinelli’s contract extension will be a huge boost to Arsenal, not only for this season but the years to come, with The Brazilian expected to be one of Arsenal’s core players in the next couple of years.

Arsenal are also looking to extend the contracts of Bukayo Saka, Charlie Patino and William Saliba & with Gabriel Martinelli finally putting pen to paper, hopefully the others will follow suit very soon.
