Gabriel Jesus has boldly expressed his desire to win the UEFA Champions League title this season with Arsenal, following the dominant 6-0 victory over Lens last night at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal qualified to the knockout stages of the Champions League as Group B winners with a game in hand, and Gabriel Jesus continued his impressive goalscoring form in the competition with a goal and assist.

Goals from Kai Havertz, Jesus, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Martin Odegaard in a sensational first-half all but secured the game for the Gunners. Jorginho’s late penalty added to the comprehensive victory for Mikel Arteta’s team.

For Jesus, his goal marked his 24th in the Champions League, achieved across 42 appearances for both Manchester City and now Arsenal. Post-match, the 26-year-old shared his ambitions with TNT Sports, emphasising his ambition to win the Champions League with Arsenal.

“Champions League, I see many times. I watched a lot at home. Sometimes I missed school to watch because I love football,” expressed Jesus.

“Champions League is special, like the Premier League, but I already won the Premier League [at Man City]. I want to win here [at Arsenal] obviously, but I want to win the Champions League as well. Not just scoring, but win.”

Praising Arsenal’s astounding performance, Jesus lauded the fervent home support at the Emirates Stadium.

Reflecting on the match, he stated, “When you start the game like we did, we score a lot of goals, then we’re winning. Obviously, we want to continue, but sometimes it’s just impossible because you get tired and the opponent tries to play with the ball.”

With Arsenal firmly seated atop Group B with 12 points, the seeding for the knockout stages remains secure, even if they were to face a loss against PSV in the last group game on December 12.
