Gabriel Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City at the beginning of the season & made a prediction on where the Gunners would finish come May, when he first joined the club…

After letting Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave on a free transfer in January 2022 & allowing Alex Lacazette to go back to France at the end of last season, Arsenal were in the market for a striker that was going to take them to the next level.

That striker turns water into wine & his name is Gabriel Jesus.

Arsenal signed the 25-year-old from Mikel Arteta’s former club, Manchester City, in a deal worth £52.5million, in the hope he would be the man to get Arsenal back into the top four.

After missing out narrowly on Champions League football last season, the aim for Mikel Arteta’s side in August was to get Europe’s biggest competition back at the Emirates Stadium for the first time since 2017.

Well, Gabriel Jesus had other ideas. Champions League football might have been the aim at the beginning of the season but that all changed shortly after the Brazilian walked through the doors at London Colney, followed by Oleksandr Zinchenko, who was also brought from Manchester City in the summer.

Both players brought a mentality that Arsenal were currently lacking. They’re both winners. Gabriel Jesus & Oleksandr Zinchenko had lifted the Premier League trophy four times out of the last five seasons, while playing for Manchester City.

The standards rose dramatically as soon as the two arrived in North London with Arsenal’s number ten questioning why Manchester City let the pair leave.

Emile Smith Rowe on Gabriel Jesus & Oleksandr Zinchenko…

“Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus coming in felt like it changed the whole dynamic. Zinchenko is one of the best technical players I’ve seen. I can’t believe City let them go”

Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League table, eight points clear of Gabriel Jesus’ former club, Manchester City, however they do have a game in hand on the Gunners.

The aim in August was to finish in the top four, however with two months left of the season, Arsenal find themselves not just in a title race, but a title race their currently favourites to win.

No one expected the Gunners to be in this position with ten games left to play, well no one apart from Gabriel Jesus…

Fellow Brazilian, Gabriel has spoken on the prediction Gabriel Jesus made when he first walked through the door at the start of the season…

Gabriel Magalhaes on Gabriel Jesus:

“When he came to Arsenal, he looked at me and said this year, if everyone works together, we can win the Premier League.”

Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League in 19 years, however that didn’t stop Gabriel Jesus making an outrageous prediction back in August and now the club find themselves ten games away from making that prediction a reality…
