Former Arsenal star Lukas Podolski is gearing up to host a sensational music festival, enlisting none other than iconic American boy band Backstreet Boys to headline the event.

Podolski, now 38, has ventured into various industries since his football career, amassing a £180 million fortune primarily through his ventures in the kebab and ice cream business.

Having launched his dessert brand Ice Cream United in 2017 and subsequently establishing the Mangal Doner chain the following year, Podolski has seen remarkable success with over 30 kebab branches across Germany, including four in his hometown of Cologne.

Partnering with Markus Krampe, Podolski introduced the Glucksgefuhle Festival last year, drawing over 135,000 attendees to become Germany’s largest festival held at the Hockenheimring in Baden-Wurttemberg.

With expectations soaring even higher for this year’s edition scheduled from September 12-15, over 200,000 people are anticipated to flock to the festival grounds. Backstreet Boys, renowned for their 90s hits like ‘I Want It That Way’ and ‘Everybody’, will take center stage at the Euphoria Stage in their only Germany concert of the year, joined by Lost Frequencies and Martin Garrix.

Beyond the music, the festival promises a diverse array of activities, including football tournaments, go-kart racing, and classic fairground attractions like a Ferris wheel and carousel. However, attendance comes with a price tag, with day tickets priced at £68 and weekend passes costing £162.

Podolski, who enjoyed a memorable stint at Arsenal from 2012 to 2015, endeared himself to the club’s faithful with his impactful performances, including a crucial role in ending Arsenal’s nine-year trophy drought with a victory in the FA Cup final against Hull City in 2014. Despite subsequent moves to Inter Milan and Galatasaray, Podolski remains a cherished figure among Arsenal fans, now channeling his energy into creating unforgettable experiences beyond the football pitch.
