Former Arsenal left-back, now playing in America, Kieran Gibbs has given his prediction on the Premier League title race with five games left to play for the Gunners…

Although a massive dip in Arsenal’s form recently has meant most fans think the title race is now over, Mikel Arteta has assured everyone in his pre-match press conference that him and his players will fight until the end. The Arsenal boss has set his players the target of winning all five games for the remainder of the season.

Kieran Gibbs has been closely following Arsenal this season and has given his verdict on Arsenal’s recent stumble as well as his prediction for the title.

In an interview with ESPN, he stated:

“All of the other big six teams are completely miles off anywhere near City and Arsenal this season. The strides that Mikel has taken this team in short space of time, there are a lot more other teams in league that I worry about over the next 4-5 years, other than Arsenal.”

On who will be crowned champions come the end of the season, Kieran Gibbs doesn’t think his former side have enough this season to lift the Premier League trophy. He gave the Gunners a 10% chance of winning the league this season.

However he went onto say how Mikel Arteta has got the club in a position where they can go on and potentially win the league in the next few years, as long as they keep on the same course and that the Gunners should be proud of what they’ve achieved this season.

Arsenal’s next game is on Tuesday at home against London rivals Chelsea, and the Gunners will have a chance to get back to winning ways after four games without victory.
