Former Arsenal midfielder, Alex Iwobi who is pursuing continental glory with Nigeria, has revealed the player he considers the best among his teammates during his time with the Gunners.

Despite playing alongside renowned stars like Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Iwobi’s choice for the top spot might come as a surprise to many.

In an interview with Voice of Nigeria as he represents Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Iwobi named Santi Cazorla as the best player he played with at Arsenal.

Spanish midfielder, Santi Cazorla left an indelible mark during his six-year spell at Arsenal before leaving in May 2018.

“The best player I have played with is Santi Cazorla when I was at Arsenal,” Iwobi told Voice of Nigeria.

During his time at Arsenal, Cazorla was celebrated for his exceptional skill on the ball and his ability to dictate play from midfield.

Despite enduring a tumultuous end to his Arsenal career due to a severe injury, Cazorla remains highly respected by English fans and former teammates like, Alex Iwobi.

Iwobi’s praise for Cazorla reflects the impact the Spaniard had on his teammates, showcasing the admiration and respect he garnered within the club.

Despite the presence of numerous talented players, Cazorla’s influence stood out to Iwobi as unmatched.

Meanwhile, Alex Iwobi was in action as Nigeria survived a late-equalizer to defeat South Africa 4-2 on penalties in the semifinal, to set-up a final vs Cote d’Ivoire who have Arsenal target Diomande in their squad.
