Declan Rice completed a record breaking £105 million move to Arsenal on Saturday. However, famous British rapper Stormzy, is not happy about the move.

Arsenal unveiled Declan Rice as a Gunner after having multiple bids rejected, facing competition from the likes of Manchester City and Bayern Munich. The announcement of Rice as an Arsenal player has brought a huge sigh of relief for a lot of Arsenal fans.

The former West Ham captain becomes Arsenal’s first ‘superstar’ signing in a long time, after becoming the most expensive British player of all-time and the club’s new record-signing, surpassing the £72million paid for Nicolas Pepe in 2019.

However, many West Ham fans were not happy to see their ex-club captain make the switch over to North-London. Along with them, Stormzy, famous British rapper, was not too happy with seeing his mate, Declan Rice in an Arsenal shirt either.

Stormzy, who is a Manchester United fan, perhaps hoped that if Rice were to join a team wearing red it would have been Manchester United. In a video released by ESPN UK on YouTube, Stormzy did not hide his disappointment when he saw Declan Rice in an Arsenal shirt over a video call.

Stormzy said: “Please don’t say you’re going Arsenal man, please don’t say you’re going to Arsenal bro!”

To which Declan Rice laughed and replied, “Stormz, you’re my guy but I’m a gunner now mate. I know you’re not happy but it is what is, it is what is bro.”

Declan did go on to say at the end that he still loved Stormzy, it’s fair to say that there’s no bitter feeling between the pair. A rather hilarious interaction between the two British men.

Declan Rice is currently in the United States with his new teammates for Arsenal’s pre-season tour ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
