After winning the treble last season, Manchester City are regarded by most as the best team in world football, but Erling Haaland has insisted that an Arsenal star would improve their team.

Haaland, who won the 2022/23 Premier League Golden Boot with a league-record 36 goals, was speaking while on international duty with Norway, and was speaking about Norway and Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard.

The 23-year-old said: “Yes, I think so [that he would improve Manchester City]. There’s a good player, and a player that plays for our rivals. He’s just signed a new contract, so it’s not a topic, but at City we have a lot of [the] best players in the world.”

The 25-year-old has contributed 16 goal involvements this season, and shown excellent leadership qualities throughout what has been a superb, but also challenging, season for Mikel Arteta’s side.

He has quickly become one of the focal points of the team since arriving in North London from Real Madrid, initially on loan, back in January 2021.

Receiving such high praise from his fellow professionals is only natural given the Norwegian’s output, but will likely represent a huge confidence boost regardless.

He has proven himself to be pivotal for how Arsenal play, and will have a huge say on their chances in the Premier League title race and, as a player who would improve Manchester City, there is no doubting his ability to do so.
