The disclosure comes ahead of a highly anticipated clash between Manchester City and Arsenal in the Premier League.

Arsenal will face one of their biggest rivals for the Premier League title this season on Sunday when they travel to play Manchester City at the Etihad and Rice will be instrumental in the outcome of the match.

He continued, “He likes to take one game at a time. I said ‘big game next’ and John said ‘who are you playing?’ and I said ‘we’ve got you lot!’ He said ‘oh yeah!'”

Despite the light-hearted banter, Declan Rice emphasised the significance of the upcoming match, acknowledging its potential as a title-deciding encounter. Reflecting on the challenge of facing City at the Etihad Stadium, Rice stressed the importance for Arsenal to assert their mettle and secure a crucial victory.

“A potential title-decider, it’s going to be really tight. We have got to go to the Etihad which is going to be really tough. But if you want to get past that barrier of Arsenal being labelled stuff, you have to go there and win.

“We have to show that steeliness and character to prove we can be one of the best teams.”
