Arsenal and England midfielder Jordan Nobbs has signed an 18-month deal with the option to extend for Women’s Super League club Aston Villa.
The 30-year-old leaves Arsenal after spending 12 years with The Gunners, winning 12 trophies including three WSL titles and scoring 81 goals during 270 appearances.
In an open letter to fans Nobbs wrote, “Arsenal will always be my home. Arsenal will always be my family.
“Every single time I put on that shirt, I gave so much of my life to it because I knew how important it was to play for this club, and I knew how much passion and love was in the girls when I first arrived.
“To know I’ve played my part in creating that legacy is something really special.”
Sporting director Edu Gaspar added: “Over the past 12 years, she has written her name into the Arsenal history books and forged a deep connection with our loyal supporters.
“We would like to wish Jordan health, happiness and success on and off the pitch in the future – she is a member of the Arsenal family for life.”
Aston Villa manager Carla Ward has shared her excitement at the adding such high quality to her squad.
“This is a big signing for us and Jordan is one of the country’s most decorated footballers,” Ward said.
“She’s a winner and will bring a wealth of experience that her new teammates will thrive off.”
Jordan Nobbs has 69 caps for England and has scored eight goals. She was awarded FA Player of the Year in 2016 and the FA Players’ Player of the Year in 2017.
