And now The Daily Mail is reporting that Caicedo is desperate to make the move and is prepared to hand in a transfer request to make the move a reality.
It is even suggested in the report that he could miss his side’s FA Cup clash with Liverpool on Sunday due to not being ‘in the right frame of mind’.
The 21-year-old Ecuadorian has come to the attention of two of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, with Chelsea having had a £55m approach rejected prior to Arsenal’s bid.
However, Brighton are insistent the Ecuador international is not for sale this month and would like to keep the player. Therefore, as things currently stand, it would seem that it would take a huge offer to change their mind.
