Arsenal are sweating over the fitness of three key players ahead of the huge title clash at the Etihad Stadium against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon. Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel all weren’t available for their countries over the latest international break. The trio remained at London Colney to focus on their recovery ahead of tomorrow’s game.

Bukayo Saka initially joined up with the England squad before withdrawing due to a minor muscle problem. The Arsenal winger was reportedly dealing with muscle tightness and having the international break off was viewed as the perfect opportunity to give him a rest ahead of a busy final few months of the season.

Mikel Arteta provided an update on all three players during his press conference on Friday: “There is a chance. They haven’t trained but tomorrow we have another session so there is a chance that they can be available.”

Although Arsenal managed to beat Manchester City without Bukayo Saka in the reverse fixture earlier this season, there’s no doubt Mikel Arteta will want the 22-year-old available on Sunday.

The latest hints within the club suggest Bukayo Saka will be available for the Gunners tomorrow. The Arsenal winger has been managing a muscle injury for the majority of the season, so the issue isn’t something new.

Bukayo Saka is always determined to be on the pitch and help his team and it’s not expected to be any different for Arsenal’s biggest game of the season so far.

If Arsenal manage to beat Pep Guardiola’s side then they’ll put themselves in a great position to win their first league title in 20 years. Bukayo Saka knows that and he’ll want to play his part.

In others news, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Thomas Partey both played in a behind closed doors friendly match against QPR during the international break. Both players will also be available for Mikel Arteta tomorrow.

Gabriel Martinelli suffered a deep cut against Sheffield United with the international break coming at the right time for the Brazilian. It should have allowed the winger enough time to recover which will be a huge boost for the Gunners.
