Arsenal travel to Craven Cottage this weekend to take on Fulham & former goalkeeper, Bernd Leno. The German has insisted there are no hard feelings towards his former club ahead of facing the Gunners this weekend.
Leno joined Arsenal in 2018 and was first-choice until last season, when Mikel Arteta signed Aaron Ramsdale who established himself as the new number one shortly after joining the club. The German made 101 appearances for Arsenal during his four years in North London.
He moved to Fulham in August last year and has currently helped them to seventh in the Premier League under Marco Silva. Fulham & the 31-year-old are having a terrific season together, ahead of the game this weekend.
Bernd Leno on his former club…
“I don’t have toxic feelings or bad energy for Arsenal. It didn’t end in the perfect way, but my reception at the Emirates was really good. I get fans coming up to me saying, ‘thank you for your four years… you were very good.’
I was really happy with my performances. Even when they dropped me, I did nothing wrong. I came through the front door and I left through the front door. I still have a connection to the club.”
Bernd Leno on the Premier League title race…
“I hope Arsenal do it, I think they can.”
