Folarin Balogun is having a season he could have only dreamed of when he made the move to France at the beginning of the season & the Reims’ president believes the player could go to a “very big club” after enjoying a prolific season with the French side.
The 21-year old Arsenal loanee joined Ligue One side Stade Reims on a season-long loan last summer. Mikel Arteta wanted to give Balogun a chance of developing and he decided that a move to France would be a perfect opportunity for the player to showcase his abilities and make progress in fulfilling his potential.
We’re over halfway through the season now and it’s looking very much like Mikel Arteta was right.
Since the first touch of the ball it was obvious that Balogun and Stade Reims were a perfect fit. The Englishman quickly adjusted to the life in France and the intensity of Ligue One.
Stade Reims fans are estatic about his performances and are hopeful that they could have him on permanent, although that is unlikely to happen.

Reims president Jean-Pierre Caillot said that the club is unlikely to make Balogun’s loan permanent but has no doubt that Englishman’s future is bright, whether it is at Arsenal or another “big” club.
Balogun is currently joint top scorer of Ligue One, sharing the spot with the superstars like Kylian Mbappe and Jonathan David, with 15 goals and 1 assist.
The 21-year old is eligible to represent England, United States of America and Nigeria, although he made his England U-21 debut in September 2021. He recently stated that is open to represent Nigeria, and his place of birth, United States of America.
