Thierry Henry, who now works as a pundit for Amazon Prime Video Sports, has lauded Chilean forward Alexis Sánchez for his leadership and dedication to the game.

Thierry Henry has had strong praise for the Chilean and former-Arsenal star Alexis Sánchez. Sánchez scored a huge goal and winning brace for Marseille in a league match against Clermont on Saturday

The 34-year-old may have his time winding down, however he’s still making a huge impact in Ligue One & it shouldn’t really be a surprise considering how dedicated he is to keeping up his fitness.

Alexis’ goal on the weekend put Marseille in second place, five points behind the leaders PSG.

Sánchez had a couple of rough spells at Manchester United and Inter Milan before joining Marseille in France.

Thierry Henry on Alexis Sanchez:

At Arsenal, he made me dream. He left but I always liked his desire, the way he presses. We all know he’s quality but at Inter I said to myself ‘he’s started to decline’.

I went to see him the day after a gameMan was on a treadmill to do sprints. He’s a role model, on and off the pitch too. When you see such a player, who’s won it all, behave like this, you feel compelled to follow his example.”

Alexis Sánchez has scored 13 goals in 28 appearances for the French side and at 34-years-old, he’s not looking at slowing down anytime soon.

The respect between an Arsenal legend and an Arsenal great is clear to see.
