Arsenal rising star Chido Obi-Martin showcased his immense talent once again as he scored an impressive seven goals in the Under-18 team’s dominant 9-0 victory over Norwich City on Saturday.

The 16-year-old prodigy has been making waves throughout the season, notably grabbing attention earlier with a stunning 10-goal performance for Arsenal’s Under-16s against Liverpool. His remarkable goal-scoring form continued with notable hauls against Southampton and Crystal Palace for the U18s.

In the latest fixture against Norwich, Obi-Martin proved unstoppable, finding the net seven times in just over an hour of play. His exceptional performance not only earned him widespread acclaim but also made him a trending topic on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) during the match.

Obi-Martin has secured the top spot in the Arsenal record books for the most goals in a U18 Premier League season, notching an impressive 28 goals. In the recent match against Norwich U18s, he netted seven goals. Remarkably, he has accumulated 25 goals in his last nine games.

Despite attracting interest from clubs across Europe, Chido Obi-Martin reaffirmed his commitment to Arsenal, expressing his desire to stay with the club for the long term. He praised Arsenal as a nurturing environment for young talent and expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided by the coaching staff.

“I would like to stay at Arsenal for a long time. It’s a good club, I can feel that I’m getting much better in training.

“There are a lot of good people and good coaches, so I’m really happy to be there. Maybe I will have to play permanently at U21 from next season. There aren’t that many strikers in the squad so it will be a good opportunity for me.

“Arsenal is a club that gives young talents the opportunity to play.”

Arsenal Under-18 head coach, Jack Wilshere, lauded Obi-Martin’s performance, emphasising his exceptional talent and personality on the pitch. Wilshere highlighted the striker’s ability to create chances, his defensive contributions, and his overall impact on the team’s performance.

While acknowledging Obi-Martin’s development, Wilshere noted that there are still areas for improvement, indicating the young striker’s ongoing journey towards reaching his full potential.
