Arsenal have triggered an option in the contract of promising youngster Marcelo Flores, which will keep him at the club until June 2025, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 19-year old is currently on loan at Spanish Second division club Real Oviedo, until the end of the season.

Flores is a very versatile player who can cover multiple attacking positions, although this season he has mainly being used on the left side of a front three, where Gabriel Martinelli plays for Arsenal.

The Mexican joined the Arsenal Academy in 2019 as a 15-year old and is yet to make a first team appearance. However, he was a standout player in the academy and for U23, which earned him a loan move to the Spanish side.
