Earlier this week, The Athletic reported that Oleksandr Zinchenko was set to miss the rest of the season for Arsenal after he picked up a calf injury during the game against Newcastle United last week.

However it appears the injury to the Ukrainian isn’t as bad as first feared and he’s been spotted in training at London Colney on Saturday ahead of the game on Sunday against Brighton at the Emirates Stadium.

The photo below shows Zinchenko in full first-team training alongside Jorginho and Gabriel Jesus.

It’s currently unclear who will start at left-back tomorrow between Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney, however if the Ukrainian if fully fit, which it appears he is, then it’s expected he will continue to start.

Zinchenko has been one of Arsenal’s most important players this season since joining the club in the summer from Manchester City. He might have his defensive faults, however his technical ability and passing range is so important to the way Mikel Arteta wants to play and there’s no doubt he’ll be a huge boost if he is available for the last three games of the season.

Kieran Tierney is more than an adequate back-up option and will certainly do a job if the Ukrainian isn’t fit to start, however he doesn’t possess the same ability on the ball that Zinchenko does.
