Arsenal signed Jakub Kiwior in January but the player has revealed he turned down another Premier League club to join the Gunners.
Jakub Kiwior joined Arsenal in January from Italian side, Speiza Calcio for a fee of £20million. The Polish centre-back has gone on to make eight appearances for the Gunners since then, most notably when William Saliba got injured in February and Rob Holding dropped out of the side.
Jakub Kiwior put in two very impressive performances against Chelsea and Newcastle United towards the end of Arsenal’s Premier League campaign which showed everyone why Mikel Arteta wanted to bring him in mid-way through the season. The 23-year-old also scored his first goal for the club on the final day against Wolves at the Emirates.
The Poland international has recently revealed he was ‘very happy’ when he found out Arsenal were interested in signing him back in January.

Jakub Kiwior on signing for Arsenal in January: “Super. It was something special, but it’s hard for me to describe it. I was very happy because the best league for me has always been the Premier League and I really wanted to play there, and when I found out about Arsenal, I couldn’t believe it.”
Jakub Kiwior went on to say how he turned down a move to West Ham, in order to join the Gunners.
“No, it was more about the league. I had an offer from West Ham United before, which I turned down. They weren’t on the table, but they showed up. Then Arsenal came along and that was something special for me.”
I think I’m at the right age for the best moment in my career and to move forward. I’m happy that I changed clubs and got a chance and ended up in the starting lineups. It gave me a lot of confidence and I felt much better as a player and as a person.”
Jakub Kawior has recently been targeted to a move back to the Serie A with Napoli wanting to sign the Arsenal centre-back to replace Kim Min-jae who is set to join Bayern Munich this summer. However since Arsenal only signed the player in January, there’s no chance he leaves the club ahead of next season.
