Arsenal defender Ben White showcased his resilience amidst taunting from Wolves fans during their recent clash, where the Gunners secured a 2-0 victory at Molineux. The match saw goals from Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard, taking Arsenal back to the top of the Premier League table.

In a gritty encounter, White and his defensive cohort maintained their sixth successive clean sheet away from home in the Premier League against Wolves. However, White faced a different challenge off the pitch as a section of home supporters directed an X-rated chant towards him, singing, “Ben White, your spray tan is sh**e.”

While the ball was out of play, White responded with a gracious applause, signaling to the Molineux crowd that their taunts weren’t affecting him. The 26-year-old maintained his composure for the remainder of the game, contributing to Arsenal’s defensive solidity and securing all three points.

Despite current favourites Manchester City having a game in hand, Arsenal’s relentless pursuit was evident as they aim to challenge for the title until the end of the season. Trossard opened the scoring for Arsenal with a toe-poked strike just before halftime, while Odegaard sealed the win with a superb finish in injury time.

Goalkeeper David Raya played a pivotal role, making a crucial reaction save before Trossard’s opener, which could have altered the course of the game. Reflecting on the team’s performance, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised their defensive consistency, highlighting it as the foundation for their recent successes.

“We’ve been really consistent defensively and that’s the platform needed to win games in this league,” Arteta commented. “All we can do is win our games, and when you see the form that we are in, in the calendar year, it is unbelievable.”
