As per Mark Mann-Bryans, Arsenal are expected to trigger Mohamed Elneny’s option to extend his contract by a further 12 months and keep him at the club until 2024.

Mohamed Elneny signed a one-year contract extension with an option of a further year at the end of last season & Arsenal are expected to now take up that option, which could be announced within the next week or so.

Arsenal were desperate to bring in a central midfielder on Deadline Day as Mohamed Elneny picked up a significant knee injury in training which is expected to keep him out for the rest of the season.

Mikel Arteta seems to have got his wish with Chelsea’s, Jorginho on his way to Arsenal to provide the much needed depth in midfielder for Thomas Partey & Granit Xhaka.

Arsenal released the news today that Mohamed Elneny has had successful surgery in London and will be ruled out for an extended period of time.

However the long-term injury to Elneny hasn’t had an impact on Arsenal taking up the option to extend his contract so let’s up the Egyptian is back on the pitch sooner rather than later.
