Arsenal set a target for 2023 which involved extending the contracts of four of their most promising players: William Saliba, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Charlie Patino.
It’s a priority for the club & so far they’ve only got Gabriel Martinelli who put pen to paper to a new long-term contract last week which will keep him in North London until 2027.
However could William Saliba & Bukayo Saka set to follow in his footsteps?
Mikel Arteta on the contract situations:
“We are trying to get it done, it’s part of the plan to extend the contracts of the biggest talents – it will be done as soon as we can.”
Mikel Arteta says Arsenal are working hard to extend William Saliba’s & Bukayo Saka’s contracts. The club want them tied down to new long-term contracts as soon as possible.
Arsenal have recently taken up the option to extend Bukayo Saka’s contract by a further 12 months to 2024. Arsenal triggered the additional year before the December deadline while finalising a longer-term deal for the 21-year-old remains a priority.
Arsenal also have activated similar clauses to extend the deals of William Saliba, also to 2024, and young midfielder Charlie Patino to 2025.
