Reiss Nelson has rejected Arsenal’s last two contract offers with the players’ current deal up at the end of the season, which is just a week away.
He will be out of contract in just a few weeks’ time, however Mikel Arteta wants to keep the 23-year-old at the club beyond this season.
Arsenal have recently offered Reiss Nelson a third contract offer to try and persuade him to stay at the club and it now looks like the player will be staying at his boyhood club, with the Gunners confident they will find an agreement very soon.
The English winger has enjoyed loan spells at Feyenoord and Hoffenheim in recent seasons before staying at Arsenal in 2022/23 to try and prove himself in the Premier League.

With the minimal chances he has been given this season by Mikel Arteta, Reiss Nelson has proved his worth. Most notably against Bournemouth where he was introduced when Arsenal were 2-1 down with 20 minutes to go. He provided an assist for Ben White’s equaliser before scoring in the last minute of the game to send the Emirates into jubilation.

Unfortunately the goal won’t be one that will be remembered alongside the Premier League title, however for Reiss Nelson it showed the club that he has a lot to offer, which is why Mikel Arteta wants to keep him around for next season.
Especially with Champions League football back at the Emirates next season, Reiss Nelson will hopefully get more opportunities to impress, just like he done this season. He also scored twice and assisted once in the 5-0 victory against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium.
Several clubs are waiting in the wings to grab Nelson as soon as he is a free agent, including Brighton, but Arsenal are confident the player will stay at the club after their third contract offer has been put on the table.
