Arsenal are making significant strides to secure the future of talented defender Takehiro Tomiyasu. The North London club is currently engaged in negotiations with the 25-year-old Japanese international for a new long-term contract.

Reports indicate that an offer has already been made to Tomiyasu, and there is a growing expectation that both parties will reach an agreement in due course.

Takehiro Tomiyasu, known for his versatility and defensive prowess, joined Arsenal in the summer of 2021 from Serie A side Bologna. Since his arrival, he has quickly become a key figure in the team’s defensive setup, earning praise for his composed performances and adaptability across various positions in the backline.

The negotiations for a new contract underline the club’s confidence in Tomiyasu’s potential and his importance to Arsenal’s long-term plans.

Although he was very unlucky with the injuries in the last season, this season he has been fantastic, putting in a shift every game and winning Arsenal’s Player of the Month award for the month of October.

His performances didn’t go unnoticed in the rest of the footballing world, as he attracted many top European teams such as Bayern Munich, however, according to reliable journalists Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein, the transfer has zero chance of happening, as the Japanese international is keen on staying in North London.

This season, Tomiyasu has played 12 games in the Premier League, scoring once, and he has also played all five games in the Champions League, assisting twice in the process.

As discussions progress, fans eagerly await official confirmation of the contract extension, hoping to see Tomiyasu continue his positive impact on the team’s defensive stability. Arsenal supporters will be optimistic that securing Tomiyasu’s future is a step towards building a competitive and resilient squad for the seasons to come.
