The news of Taremi’s injury comes as a setback for Porto as they prepare to face Arsenal in the upcoming fixture . Taremi, who has been a key figure in Porto’s attack, is now in a race against time to recover for the round of 16 first leg clash.

Despite experiencing a dip in form this season, Taremi remains a potent threat, particularly in the Champions League where he has contributed two goals and two assists in six appearances. His absence would undoubtedly impact Porto’s offensive capabilities against Arsenal.

Taremi’s injury adds to Porto’s challenges as they aim to secure a positive result against Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League tie.

While the opposition manager will trouble himself searching for alternatives for the injured players, Mikel Arteta may welcome back to the squad four first team players who have been nursing different injuries. The quartet of Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Fabio Vieira could all make a return on Wednesday against Porto.

Having been out of Europe’s premier competition since 2017, Arsenal are rated the third-best team to win this year’s competition behind only holders Manchester City and Bayern Munich due to the arrival of Harry Kane in the summer.
