Ally McCoist has admitted that he had done one Arsenal player a disservice during the victory over Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium yesterday.

Arsenal made it six Premier League wins in a row to start the calendar which is the first time the Gunners have done that in their entire history.

Mikel Arteta’s side were in sensational form heading into the match, and they continued it against the Magpies yesterday. Arsenal went 4-0 up in the second-half, before former-Gunner Joe Willock scored only a consolation goal for Newcastle.

Every Arsenal player could have picked up the man of the match award, that’s how good Mikel Arteta’s side were. However it was Jorginho who deservedly got the nod, while many others produced brilliant displays.

Kai Havertz produced a top centre-forward display, while Bukayo Saka scored for the fifth consecutive Premier League game. Martin Odegaard, as usual, pulled the strings in midfielder and the whole Arsenal defence were rock solid.

However the player Ally McCoist thought deserved more of a mention was midfielder, Declan Rice. The £105million signing has been a revelation since moving to North London in the summer.

No one is talking about Declan Rice’s price tag due to how well he has performed for Mikel Arteta this season, The midfielder surprisingly has become Arsenal’s corner kick taker recently with Rice recording three assists in his last three games.

Declan Rice set up Arsenal’s fourth goal from a corner last night with Jakub Kiwior the scorer. Ally McCoist said on TNT Sports that the England international actually deserves a lot more praise for how good he has been from dead-ball situations.

Ally McCoist on Declan Rice: “I tell you another thing we’ve got to mention that I don’t think I have mentioned. We’ve not done Declan Rice much of a service, because his quality from the set plays has been fabulous.”

There’s no doubt Declan Rice has been one of Arsenal’s most consistent performers so far this season. The Gunners will need him to continue to play at the top of his game if they want to win their first league title in 20 years this season.
