Former Gunner, Alex Iwobi has recently made his prediction on who he thinks will lift the Premier League trophy come the end of the season…

The Nigerian winger spent over a decade at the North London club, first at Hale End & then in the first team.

Mikel Arteta is attempting to guide Arsenal to their first Premier League trophy since 2003/04, but Manchester City isn’t going to make it easy for the Gunners with Pep Guardiola’s being crowned champions four times out of the five last seasons.

When Iwobi was asked whether Arsenal can win it or not, he said:

“Yeah, I believe so. And I want them to, to be fair.”

Arsenal’s next hurdle is at home against Leeds United on Saturday, with the Gunners huge favourites to take all three points in the afternoon kick-off.

The Nigerian has made 128 appearances so far for the Evertonians since arriving at Goodison Park and hopes to help Sean Dyche’s Everton crawl out of the current relegation battle they’re facing.

Iwobi made 149 appearances for Arsenal and won the FA Cup during his time in North London. The current Everton player, who was transformed under Frank Lampard still keeps a close eye on Arsenal’s performance and has praised Reiss Nelson for his performances off the bench.

After Nelson made it 3-2 in the 97th minute against Bournemouth, Alex Iwobi had nothing but positive things about his mate and the Arsenal academy graduate…

“He’s another product. He’s another one who is a joke in training. With him like, he just has raw ability. I have to give it to him becuase he’s had to be patient. But every time he’s come on to play, he’s delivered.

I think he’s been the most impactful sub at Arsenal this season. For someone to be able to do that and not play regularly and still have that elite mindset, I have to rate it.”

Alex Iwobi has a lot of belief in his former team lifting the Premier League trophy come to the end of the season and believes that Reiss Nelson is the perfect substitute if Arsenal need an option off the bench during the last ten games.
