Mikel Arteta faces a selection dilemma at both ends of the pitch ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Anfield this weekend.

The big news Arsenal fans are waiting for is whether William Saliba will be deemed fit enough to start at Anfield this weekend. Rob Holding has been faultless over the last two games, however playing Leeds & Palace is a completely different level of opposition compared to playing Liverpool at Anfield.

What we understand is that the Frenchman is being assessed on a day-to-day basis. It’s currently unclear whether he will be deemed fit enough to participate in the game this weekend. Mikel Arteta is expected to make a late call on whether William Saliba will be involved.

Mikel Arteta mentioned in his press conference today that one injured player will return to first-team training tomorrow but the Arsenal boss refused to name the player.

If he doesn’t make it then Rob Holding will be in line to start his third Premier League game in a row, but as you can see below in our predicted line-up, we think Saliba could make it.

On to the other end of the pitch and Mikel Arteta faces a different kind of selection headache. Bukayo Saka missed the game against Leeds last time out through illness, however he’s back and expected to start for Arsenal. That leaves two starting spots for Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

Leandro Trossard scored a hat-trick when he came to Anfield earlier in the season with Brighton. He’s also picked up 7 assists in his last 6 games for Arsenal. He’s in the form of his life but we don’t expect it will be enough for him to keep his place in the starting eleven at Anfield on Sunday.

We expect Gabriel Martinelli & Gabriel Jesus to make up Arsenal’s front three beside Bukayo Saka on Sunday.

now.arsenal’s predicted line-up for Arsenal’s trip to Anfield: Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Partey, Xhaka, Ødegaard, Saka, Jesus, Martinelli.
