The Arsenal player ratings after The Gunners suffer their second league defeat of the season at the hands of relegation threatened Everton today…
Aaron Ramsdale – 5.0
I thought he could have done better from a few Everton corners. He didn’t command his six yard box like he usually does and that’s where Everton’s winning goal came from.
Ben White – 5.5
Like most Arsenal players today, it’s wasn’t Ben White’s best performance by any means. He won 2 out of his 6 duels and lost possession 12 times in total.
William Saliba – 6.5
I thought the two centre backs were Arsenal’s best players today. Saliba is always so calm on the ball and that was no different today, unfortunately the players in front of him weren’t good enough.
Gabriel – 7.0
Arsenal’s best player today & my Arsenal MOTM. Gabriel completed 79 out of 81 passes today & won 5 duels in total. Solid at the back once again.
Oleksandr Zinchenko – 6.0
Zinchenko didn’t give up and kept on trying to make things happen all game, unfortunately it just wasn’t happening for him today & he let his emotions get the better of him towards the end of the game which didn’t help Arsenal.
Thomas Partey – 6.0
93% pass accuracy before he was substituted in the second-half. It wasn’t Partey’s best performance today, but I didn’t think he was bad & I thought he should have stayed on, unless it was due to fitness.
Granit Xhaka – 5.5
He played the full 90 but he didn’t really make too much happen & couldn’t get into the game like he usually does.
Martin Odegaard – 6.0
Arsenal’s captain didn’t control the game like he would have wanted, however I thought he should have stayed on the pitch as he was still Arsenal’s brightest spark in the second-half. You can’t fault his effort.
Bukayo Saka – 6.0
Saka retained possession well at times, however he was getting man marked by two Everton players the entire game and unfortunately couldn’t make things happen. He still won 9 out of 14 duels today.
Eddie Nketiah – 5.5
Eddie missed a great chance in the first-half and apart from that couldn’t really get into the game. He only had 21 touches throughout the entire 90 minutes.
Gabriel Martinelli – 4.5
His ball retention was really poor today. Martinelli lost the ball 14 times before he was substituted and like Bukayo Saka, Everton marked him out of the game well.
Leandro Trossard – 5.5
Trossard came on in the 59th minute and looked bright. He had a couple of half chances but that was it.
Jorginho – 5.0
The Italian came in the 59th minute to make his Arsenal debut for Thomas Partey. It was a difficult game to come into and he was a little wasteful in possession in the 30 minutes he was on the pitch. Not a debut to remember.
Fabio Vieira – 6.0
The best of the Arsenal substitutes in the 13 minutes he played today.
