The Arsenal player ratings as the Gunners get back to winning ways in the Premier League against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon.
Arsenal returned from the warm-weather training camp in Dubai earlier this week and it looked like their hard work paid off today. After struggling to score goals in the last three matches, two set-pieces gave Mikel Arteta’s side the lead going into the break.
In the second-half Leandro Trossard grabbed a third on the counter attack, while Gabriel Martinelli came off the bench to score a brace to make it the perfect five-star performance from Arsenal this afternoon.
David Raya – 8.0 – He gave the ball away in the first-half but recovered quickly to make a great save from Jefferson Lerma’s shot. Other than that mistake, he was excellent today and also created the third goal with a brilliant throw to Gabriel Jesus to set up the counter attack.
Ben White – 7.5 – Solid defensive performance from Ben White who looked back to his best today. He’s been playing with a knock over the past few months but the break looks to have done him good as Eze didn’t have a sniff.
William Saliba – 7.5 – Very solid performance from the Frenchman as we’ve come a custom to over the last year. Him and Gabriel produced the perfect performance against Mateta today and deserved a rare Emirates clean sheet.
Gabriel – 10.0 – Gabriel was superb and most definitely my Arsenal MOTM. Scoring problem? What problem? We know Gabriel is a massive threat from corners and he showed that with his brace today. Also the perfect performance at the back as well.
Oleksandr Zinchenko – 8.0 – A surprise inclusion in the starting eleven as he wasn’t expected back so soon from his calf injury, however there’s no doubt Arsenal are a better team with the Ukrainian in the side. He dictated the match all afternoon and produced a top performance.
Declan Rice – 7.5 – Just like Zinchenko, Declan Rice helped Arsenal take control of today’s game. Another top performance which we’re used to seeing this season.
Kai Havertz – 7.0 – Quiet performance from Kai Havertz but he done what was needed of him today. He won four duels and had a passing accuracy of 93% while on the pitch.
Martin Odegaard – 7.0 – Controlled performance from Arsenal’s captain today. Nothing special but he never hides. Odegaard always wants the ball and that was no different today.
Bukayo Saka – 7.0 – Quiet performance from what we’re used to by Bukayo Saka. Although his defensive work rate was top today to help Ben White out against Eze.
Gabriel Jesus – 7.5 – Mixed performance from Gabriel Jesus, but there’s no doubt Arsenal are a better team with him in the side. He won eight duels and picked up an assist for Trossard’s goal but still couldn’t find himself on the scoresheet. Also was offside quite a few times which was frustrating.
Leandro Trossard – 7.5 – Scored his first goal in ten games and it was a great composed finish to put Arsenal three up. Other than the goal he retained the ball well and got Arsenal up the pitch. Good performance from the Belgian.
Gabriel Martinelli – 9.0 – Played 20 minutes.
Emile Smith Rowe – 7.0 – Played 20 minutes.
Jorginho – 7.5 – Played 20 minutes.
Eddie Nketiah – 6.0 – Played 10 minutes.
Jakub Kiwior – 6.0 – Played 10 minutes.
