Arsenal legend, Paul Merson gives his prediction on Arsenal’s clash with Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
Both teams go into the game on not the greatest of form, with Arsenal winless in their last four games, losing one and drawing three. Whilst Chelsea are winless in their last six games, losing four and drawing two.
Both teams will look at this game as an opportunity to turn their form around and get back on track with five games to play, although Arsenal have a lot more left to play for than the Blues.
Arsenal have handed Manchester City the advantage in the title race over the last week, however the Gunners won’t give up on their title dream just yet, but will need to win their remaining five games and hope Pep Guardiola’s side drop points in order to stand a chance of lifting the trophy come May.
Mikel Arteta’s side go into the game heavy favourites with the Gunners still currently sitting top of the Premier League, although that could change today if Manchester City beat Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Former Arsenal player, Paul Merson gives his prediction on the London Derby as he thinks the Gunners should win the game quite comfortably at the Emirates.
“I don’t see anything but an Arsenal win here. Given Chelsea’s squad depth, they should not be in the position they are in. Chelsea don’t have a good centre-forward. They can’t seem to figure out where the goals are coming from”.
Paul Merson predicted that the game will finish 2-0 to Arsenal, and depending on the City result against Fulham, it could place the Gunners first, at least until the next game week, while Chelsea’s misery will have been deepened.
Arsenal won the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge 1-0 with the goal coming from centre back, Gabriel.
