Arsenal legend, Ian Wright and midfielder Declan Rice were full of praise for one Arsenal man after his excellent performance in the Champions League against RC Lens last night.

Kai Havertz scored his first non-penalty goal for the club against Brentford last week and he added to that last night with the opening goal at the Emirates Stadium.

The German looks full of confidence right now operating on the left-side of the Arsenal midfield. His performance last night had a swagger about it which we were yet to see since his move to North London in the summer.

Havertz finally looks to be finding his feet at his new club and he took to Instagram after the match to celebrate the Gunners qualifying for the  Champions League knockout stages for the first time in seven years.

Havertz uploaded a three-photo post with the caption: “Into the UCL knockouts!! Great week, let’s keep it rolling.”

Ian Wright and Declan Rice both replied to Kai Havertz’ Instagram post, showing support for the German. Wright simply replied with a love heart emoji and Declan Rice replied with ‘29’ – Havertz’s squad number.

Kai Havertz has now scored three goals and recorded one assist for Arsenal so far this season. He had a difficult start to life in North London, however after three months at his new club, he looks to finally be building confidence at a vital stage of the season.

Mikel Arteta on Kai Havertz after the victory last night:“He’s becoming better and better, he’s more confident.

“His two goals, two very important goals as well, because one won us the game and today he opened the scoring. His overall contribution again was really, really good.”
