Manchester United legend Gary Neville is putting his money on Arsenal to win at Anfield for the first time in the Premier League since 2012.
Arsenal haven’t won at Anfield for 11 years but surprisingly Gary Neville thinks Arsenal have what it takes to hurt Liverpool on Sunday.
The Gunners are heading to Anfield full of confidence, as they sit top of the Premier League, and are hopeful they can punish an out of form Liverpool side who haven’t won in their last three league games.
Arsenal are looking to extend their seven game consecutive winning streak in the Premier League, which is the longest winning run they’ve put together under Mikel Arteta’s management so far.
Gary Neville, although being very critical of Arsenal throughout this season, is expecting Gunners to continue their title charge with a win over Liverpool on Sunday after the Reds disappointing performance in mid-week game against Chelsea.
When asked about Liverpool’s performance against Chelsea, he answered:
“It’s for certain if they were to give Arsenal the chances they’ve given Chelsea tonight, they would be well behind in the game on Sunday.”
He also criticized Liverpool’s defense and claimed that Arsenal have many weapons which they can use to hurt Liverpool on Sunday.
Ian Wright agrees with Gary Neville and thinks Arsenal now have the mentality and confidence needed to win at Anfield, unlike in previous seasons.
