Mikel Arteta is a man where even the finest of details matter. Everything has to be perfect. He’s a perfectionist on & off the pitch.
In the dressing room ahead of the North London Derby, Arsenal posters were put up which read IDENTITY & UNITY. Another one of Mikel Arteta’s genius ideas and this time it definitely worked.
The last thing the players see before they step into the tunnel… Unity & Identity. What more motivation could you possibly need?
Mikel Arteta’s team sure played with their identity at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, as they swept their North London rivals away, especially in the first-half. The team was together from the first whistle until the very end.
The acronym of identity read:
Intensity
Discipline
Energy
Non-negotiables
Trust
Improve
Team
You
Mikel Arteta during a press conference when he first became Arsenal manager: “For me if I have to define our identity, it is one word now: unity. Without unity you can’t achieve what we want to achieve and unity means every person that works in the organisation, it’s our way of playing, it our way of transmitting, our way of playing, it is our way of transmitting our values, our way of connecting with our fans, our ownership is everybody, uniform, thinking in the same way, with the same purpose, without any individual agendas, without any egos, just that’s the task.”
The club has never been so together & that’s down to Mikel Arteta and his non-negotiables.
